Marble trout, the most well-known and recognizable fish of the river, carries with it a rich history, stories, and biological intricacies shaped by the course of history. As the name suggests, the Soča (Isonzo in Italian) River witnessed the Isonzo Front during World War I, leaving behind remnants and traces of historically significant battles encountered at every turn during fishing. Understanding and experiencing a place that is visited for the first time, foreign and unfamiliar, means grasping and acknowledging its history and culture. In addition to guided fishing, we will explore the hidden corners of the past together, visiting historical and cultural monuments, as well as remnants of battle lines and bunkers along the way. With the help of good weather, we will behold the surrounding peaks in all their beauty, including the highest in the country, Triglav. Throughout the adventure, we will also marvel at other natural wonders.
Our journey is not a tourist sightseeing tour but a deep exploration of a place where history, culture, and natural beauty intertwine. Every step and every fly-fishing cast will unveil a new chapter of this magnificent region. Join us and experience the authenticity of the Soča Valley, from the Isonzo Front to fly-fishing for Marble trout, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
